Come join me in the picturesque setting of the Hudson Valley, an event that captures the essence of challenge, beauty, and personal achievement: the Alpha Win Hudson Valley Marathon at Walkway over the Hudson.
This marathon isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of endurance, willpower, and breathtaking scenery.
The marathon weekend consists of a race for every distance, including a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon. I did this race last year and loved every moment of it.
The Night Before: An Evening of Inspiration
As we gear up for this year’s Hudson Valley Marathon, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be stepping into a role that is truly honorable. I will be the keynote speaker the night before the race.
I will talk about my book, “From Couch Potato to Endurance Athlete” and how I started running for the first time at age 48.
This book is not just my story; it’s a testament to what we are all capable of achieving with determination, hard work, and a bit of courage. I will also talk about my recent set back and how I’m coming back stronger from it.
During the Evening
The evening promises to be one filled with inspiration, laughter, and perhaps a few tears, as I share the highs and lows of my journey. From those first daunting steps out the door to crossing finish lines I once thought were beyond my reach, my path has been anything but straightforward. Yet, through it all, the love of running has been a constant, transformative force in my life.
For those interested, I will also have copies of my book on hand, which delves deeper into my journey and the lessons learned along the way. I look forward to meeting many of you, signing books, and sharing in the collective excitement and anticipation for the race day ahead.
Race Day: Running Across the Hudson
The following day, I’ll join fellow runners in tackling the 10k across the majestic Hudson River. Having participated last year, I can attest to the sheer spectacle and uplifting spirit of the race. The Hudson Valley Marathon offers something truly special for everyone, with distances ranging from a one-mile race to a full marathon. The run over the Hudson River, with panoramic views stretching from the Catskills to the Hudson Highlands, provides a backdrop that is as motivating as it is beautiful.
Running the 10k is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Each step across the Walkway Over the Hudson is a celebration of progress, a testament to the strength we gain from facing our fears and pushing beyond our perceived limits.
