I’ve been wearing Brooks Running Shoes for a long time now. When I walked into a running store several years ago, the salespeople talked me into buying the Brooks Ghost shoes, which I loved.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sample the Brooks New Revel 4 Running Shoe. When I tried them on, I immediately felt the high arch support.
About the Brooks Revel 4 Running Shoe
Along with the high arch, the shoe has neutral support. Like the Ghosts, the Revel 4 has an 8mm drop. It uses an interesting technology called BioMoGo DNA which this along with the Green Rubber delivers a springy ride. These are perfect for road running, especially short sprints.
The Revel 4 also has a knit toe box, but it isn’t sock-like. The material doesn’t stretch like some of the other knit sneakers I have worn in the past.
In terms of the sizing, they fit true to size. (I always go up a half size in my sneakers.)
The Revel 4s don’t run wide, they have medium width and the toe box is somewhat roomy. I’ve worn sneakers that had a bigger toe box, but these are perfect.
The thing about Revel 4 is that they are sold at a lower price point.
Taking them for a test drive
I wore the Revel 4s on the road. I found them bouncy, responsive, and lightweight. They are great for every day running. I truly enjoyed running in them but I think I still prefer the Ghosts. I look forward to comparing the Ghosts to the Revels in an upcoming blog post.
These are a great entry into running sneakers and I know especially beginners will really enjoy the bounce and comfort of these sneakers.
The price for a pair of the Brooks Revel 4s are $100 and come in a variety of cool colors. You can pick them up at your favorite running store or online at Brooks at https://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/revel-4-womens-running-shoes/120337.html.
