As a long-time fan of the Arc’Teryx brand, I’m always excited to try out their innovative products. This season, I’ve had the pleasure of testing three items that have proven to be excellent companions in my transition from winter to spring – the Merino Wool 3/4 Crew Sock, the Vertex Alpine W Running Shoe, and the Norvan Running Belt.
Arc’Teryx Merino Wool 3/4 Crew Sock
The first item on my list is the Merino Wool 3/4 Crew Sock. As expected from a brand that prides itself on quality, these socks deliver comfort, warmth, and durability. The merino wool blend ensures your feet stay warm without overheating, perfect for those chilly early spring mornings. In addition, the socks provide a snug fit, ensuring they don’t slip or bunch up during a long run or hike.
I wore these socks on a 20-degree day, and they did not disappoint. I also wore them skiing, when it was a lot colder and they worked great. They kept my feet warm!
Arc’Teryx Vertex Alpine W Running Shoe
Next up is the Vertex Alpine W Running Shoe, designed specifically for trail running. The shoe’s sock-like fit above the ankle enhances comfort and provides additional support. Additionally, the grip on these shoes is fantastic – I tested them out in ice and snow conditions. I also tested them in some local trails and they worked great.
I thought they would weigh me down but I had a quick turnover with these shoes. They are waterproof, but breathable, and have a protected toe in case you bang it on a tree stump or any other debris while running. They have an 8mm drop.
The shoes are perfect for road to trail as well. However, one thing to note is that the arch isn’t very high. For someone like me with high arches, an insole may be required for optimal comfort. That said, I typically put insoles in most of my shoes.
Arc’Teryx Norvan Running Belt
Lastly, the Norvan Running Belt is a game-changer for long runs. It’s super comfortable and breathable, ensuring I don’t feel weighed down or overheated. The Hydrapak bottle it comes with is large enough to keep you hydrated throughout a longish run.
These three products from Arc’Teryx have proven to be reliable, high-quality, and well worth the investment. They are currently available.
Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner or just starting out, I highly recommend giving them a try as you transition from winter to spring. Happy adventuring!
